ACCESS CONTROL
SERVICE OVERVIEW
Access Control – The control of persons, vehicles and materials through entrances and exits of a controlled area or premises. (Security Industry Dictionary, NTS)
It is a system or process to grant or deny an individual access to a specific area or object based upon their possession of an item, code or physical characteristic. (Electronic Access Control, NTS)
With Electronic Access Control a variety of key methods can be used, including key-codes and swipe or proximity cards or tags, and even bio-metrics. Electronic keys are extremely difficult to duplicate, making duplication a rare occurrence.
The same access credentials can grant access to wherever one needs to go. The system can be customized for each user including access level, time, and location. Systems can also be managed from a computer and terminated users can be deleted immediately.
